The name “Five Points” references the intersection in La Porte at the end of Main Street that for years had 5 streets intersecting. In the 1920s and 1930s, as automobiles became the primary means of travel, 10,000 - 20,000 people would come to La Porte for the weekend through Five Points.  Five Points is the historical heart of La Porte!  In 1937, contracts were awarded for two traffic lights in La Porte - one was at Five Points and the other at Main and Second Street.
